…at Madrid Studios, we offer both virtual and in-person lessons! You can sign up for weekly 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons in which we cover a wide range of material suited to your specific goals for study.
If you are a BEGINNER here’s what you can expect…
In the first few months you will learn to the basics of proper piano technique: how to sit at the piano, how to use your fingers, wrists, and arms in a healthy and sustainable way. You will also learn how to read music (it’s easier than you might think!) and you will also learn the basics of music theory: how to read key signatures and time signatures, and basic functional harmony.
If you are an INTERMEDIATE student or already have some of the basics down, here is what you can expect…
We will pick up right where you are and make sure that your technique is serving you well (think: curved fingers, flexible wrists, relaxed arms and shoulders). We will fix up any little gaps you may have in your pianistic foundation— we all have them— Sometimes this includes improving your sight reading or rounding out your theory knowledge. We talk about healthy practicing habits and even learn some useful practicing hacks. Together we will develop a plan to empower you on your continued musical journey!
If you are an ADVANCED student here is what you can expect…
We will specifically focus on your goals and develop an advanced level plan to help you achieve your fullest potential. Whether it’s classical or contemporary, we want to focus on repertoire that suits you best while challenging you to continue adding tools to your technical tool belt. We can dive deep into music history (if that sounds fun to you) and theory and explore how to quickly learn and memorize music. In the end, my goal is to equip you to be your own teacher so that you can experience a lifetime of self-empowered musical enjoyment!

I am an active member of the MTAC and though I usually accept students who are looking to participate in CM, I will no longer be offering this for my students as the MTAC state office moved all evaluations to online format only.
