Hi— I’m Mandee! I’ve been a music nerd for as long as I can remember. I started playing the piano when I was 8 years old and I was immediately hooked— in fact my mom used to have to tell me to STOP practicing!
I knew from a young age that I had a passion for sharing music with others and I started doing exactly that— teaching younger kids in my neighborhood when I was only 13 years old— and I’ve been teaching ever since. Whether it’s piano technique, repertoire, ear training, or music theory— I love talking about it all!
My various degrees include an MM degree in Collaborative Piano from UC Santa Barbara and an MPerf degree in Piano Accompanying (I specialize in German Lieder) from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. I am an active member of the Music Teacher’s Association of California and have served as the President of the Santa Barbara Branch since Fall 2019.
The study and performance of music has brought me over all the world and my various collaborations have introduced me to new friends in all genres of music. Music has been the single most beautiful thing about my life and I just can’t wait to share it with you— my future student!
